DANIEL ZAMALLOA: home
The rich diversity of musical traditions of Peru reflects its mixed indigenous, Spanish, and African heritages as well as the extremely varied geography of its territory.
Daniel Zamalloa’s musical identity as an instrumentalist, ensemble leader, and composer is deeply rooted in the continuum of these traditions. Among other instruments, he plays folk violin in the styles of the Quechua fiddlers from the Andes highlands as well as criollo and Afro-Peruvian guitar from the coastal region.
